Blue10 is one of the best-known invoice scanning tools on Exact Online and Exact Globe, with integrations on AccountView among others. Invoices arrive, get recognised, pass an approval flow and are posted, and recognition has improved with machine learning in recent years. There is an iOS and Android app for photographing, approving and looking things up. For companies with a stable supplier base it works: it saves manual data entry. People look for an alternative for one of three reasons, and which alternative fits depends on which reason it is.

Why people look for an alternative
Three reasons come back in every conversation with finance teams.
1. Recognition you keep training per supplier. Recognition has improved with machine learning, but in practice you still teach the system per supplier. When a layout changes or a new supplier arrives, that training starts again. With a stable supplier base you barely notice; with churn it becomes a recurring chore.
2. Every invoice still has to be touched. The scanning is automated, but that is largely where the automation stops. Recurring invoices with the same items go through by themselves, but variation in suppliers, services or goods means most invoices are still handled by an employee and coded by hand on GL account or cost centre. An international hardware reseller processing some 500 to 800 invoices a month told us that despite Blue10, no invoice goes through without manual intervention. And with multiple administrations, you also forward incoming emails to the right entity yourself.
3. Extensive, but not intelligent. Blue10 is a mature system, up to and including 3-way matching in the higher tiers. But an invoice that does not match goes back into the queue: the investigation, the email to the supplier, the credit note stay with your team. If the PO number is not quite on the invoice, the system does not go and find it. Splitting invoice lines across multiple purchase orders is limited. And it does not learn from your booking history: the same correction simply comes back next month.
Reasons 2 and 3 are not a Blue10 problem but the boundary of a category we call the second generation: scanning software stops where the real work starts. From the analysis Claridy made of 21,642 Dutch finance job postings: at companies that already name scanning software, the number of automatable tasks per AP job posting is nearly identical to companies without. The retyping disappeared; the work stayed.

Claridy: the alternative from a different category
Claridy (generation 3: the intelligent action layer), measured by the same standard. The difference can be tested with one question: what happens to the invoice that does not match? With every tool above, a task is created for a human. With Claridy that task is created for the agent first, which works out why the difference is there and what has to happen about it. Only if that fails does it reach your team, with the preparation done.
Where Blue10 has you train the system per supplier, here you explain it once and the system remembers. Beyond that: line-level three-way matching, and coding that learns from your own corrections, because a correction becomes a rule itself. Runs on Exact Online, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics 365, and that last one is the sharpest distinction on this page: not one of the capture tools above runs on NetSuite.
Claridy keeps no books of its own. It reads from your ERP and writes back to it, and what it remembers is rules and decisions, not balances. Switch it off and your books are exactly as they were. That is the difference between a layer and a lock-in, and on a page about switching that is the question you should put to every vendor here.
Price: € 499 per month flat, three-way matching € 250 per month extra, no price per invoice, per document or per user, cancellable monthly.1 Where it stops: below roughly a hundred invoices per month there is too little repetitive work to make the difference.

One thing stands out reading the ERP column top to bottom: this market is built on Exact. If you are on NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365, most of the category drops out before you get to features. Claridy runs on all three, and for some readers of this page that is the only thing that matters.
More context on the three generations of technology and all vendors: the comparison guide to accounts payable software. What Claridy does with the purchase invoice is on Procure to Pay, the price on the pricing page.
When you simply stay with Blue10
If your invoices almost always match (one PO, one invoice, a stable supplier base) and your team handles the exceptions, Blue10 does its job and switching is mostly hassle. Multiple entities work fine too. An alternative pays off only when one of the three reasons above costs structural time.
FAQ
There is no best, only best-for-your-complaint. More automation rules within the scanning layer: Zenvoices. Cheaper: TriFact365. Books at a Twinfield firm: Basecone. Construction, certainly on 4PS: WhiteVision. Matching on Exact Online: Glimps. An intelligent system for accounts payable that genuinely takes the work after scanning off your hands: Claridy.
With Claridy, yes: it runs on your existing mailbox, ERP and bank, first in parallel with your current tool. Your books simply stay in your ERP; nothing moves.
Watch the structure, because the entry prices look lower than the bill. Blue10 and TriFact365 charge per document on top of the subscription, Zenvoices charges per invoice, user and administration, and with Glimps approvers and PO matching are billed separately. At serious invoice volume those amounts move quickly toward hundreds of euros per month, plus the hours your team keeps spending after the software. Claridy charges one flat monthly fee, from €499, with no price per invoice. The honest comparison is total price plus remaining hours, not entry price next to entry price. Work out your remaining hours with the ROI calculator.
Of the capture tools on this page, only Blue10 connects to NetSuite, and that is a connection for delivering invoices. Zenvoices runs on Exact and AFAS, TriFact365 on Exact, AFAS, SnelStart, King and Twinfield, Basecone on Twinfield and Exact, ScanSys on more than sixty systems including Dynamics 365, and Elvy on the broadest list including Business Central. For NetSuite and Dynamics 365 Finance you end up with Medius or with Claridy. Claridy runs reading and writing back on Exact Online, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics 365, without anything migrating.
